After having an accident I asked the insurance company to follow the individual I ran into. They refused, even though I told them that neither party was injured. At the time I was driving a mazda mx5 and was insureed for 2200 euro. My quote for this year for that car was 3555 euro. I had to get my wife as full driver on the mazda and me as a second driver, and subsequently I ended up paying 1800 euro for a nissan micra. The fact that I am certain that nobody was injured in the accident, the insurance company refused to look into it for me. I am now 'locked' in with my insurance group until the claim is settled. This may take two years or so. Apart from that, a work collegue who is 27 got a quotation for the mazda mx5 at a cost of 1700 euro, and he had already a claim against him. I dunno... maybe i should sell the cars and buy a couple of donkeys.
