Because I'd been out of the country for a year - and so obviously didn't have my car insured for that period Axa would not even indicate a price region untill I presented myself in person at their offices armed with my passport and half a dozen other documents!!!! Their explanation, we need to be sure you haven't been driving around for a year without insurance - since when did they become the Gardai! I think they're starting to invent much more innovative reasons for not quoting malesunder 85 years of age.
