Hi to everyone who works on the site.
I just searched for motor insurance because Im at my wits end at this
stage(I'll bet most of your e-mails start like this!).Im a 17 year old
male with a provisional licence living in County Galway. Yes,there I admit
it - by being 17 and male and with a provisional license I am supposedly
the highest possible insurance bracket around. Before christmas I started
taking a few lessons at £17 a go - safe in the knowledge that, after talking
to my parents insurance broker I was told that for one years insurance
on my mothers 97 1 litre VW Polo Id have to pay £600 - a figure not unreasonable
at all. Instead of jumping straight in and getting on the road I said
Id take a few more lessons and leave it till the spring time. So now here
I am, its February 14th and Im told that insurance is not possible for
me due to the fact that I must be getting insured on a 98 or newer car
- a policy jsut after coming in. So, by showing a bit of maturity and
holding out on insurance until my instructor had told me I was good enough
to pass my test, I've now been punished and find myself without any chance
of motor insurance. Words really just can't express how I feel about this
situation. Is it a crime to want to be able to drive myself to soccer,
or out to town to see my friends? Sorry to be taking up your time its
just I really needed to say something to someone! I must commend your
site - its a great idea and shows that not everyone is uncaring and non-cooporative
when it comes to the plight of young drivers in this country. Thank you
very much for your time and Ill be bookmarking your site, as well as telling
all my friends who are in the same boat about it.
Regards,
