Just
wanted to thank you for taking the initiative and setting up a group
such as MIAG. I think it is a great idea and hopefully will raise awareness
about the criminal prices we have to pay. In my own situation I am paying
£1700 for a '99 Renault Clio. Granted it is my first provisional licence
(for a car, I previously had moped insurance) but I am 23 years of age
and I am sick of people saying I am doing well because some people are
paying double that. But the facts are I am paying an horrific amount
compared withUK, France and people a couple of years older than me.
Unfortunately due to other commitments I am unable to physically support
the idea but you are in my thoughts and have my best wishes.
Regards
Hello there
I've just been sent the URL for your new web-page and I have to hand
it to you. It's brilliant to see somebody shouting about the ridiculous
fees young drivers pay in insurance.
I am female, 21 years of age and I pay 1,200 pounds per annum for insurance
on a 1300cc Mazda 323. I read on your site about the guy from Rathfarnham
who payed double that amount to be insured on the same type of car.
And now that he has crashed he'll be spending probably a huge percentage
of the car's actual worth on insurance. Though I am female I think I
still pay too much in insurance and I don't know how I'd cope if fate
hadn't smiled on me when I was conceived and had me born a female. I
think it's ridiculous what guys pay. The reason their insurance is higher
is simple: There are more males on the road. Males still dominate the
'driving' jobs...taxi drivers, bus drivers, couriers, on-the-road salespeople
and on-the-road technicians so, spending that much more time on the
road than females they inevitably will end up in more accidents. This
is ludicrous and my heart goes out to young male drivers on the road.
I would be delighted to join your action group and would be pleased
if you would let me know if I can do anything to further this cause
in the interim between now and the meeting on the 25th. In the meantime
I will forward the URL to everyone I know and spread the word!!!!
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
